Fabric is the raw material we use to make clothes, and it can be divided into many types according to the different fabric making process and composition, and each type of fabric has their unique functions and characteristics. Fabrics are divided into many types, which can be divided into three main categories: natural fibers, man-made fibers and synthetic fibers.

Natural fibers come directly from nature, such as cotton, hemp, wool and silk. Cotton is the most commonly used one, it is soft and breathable, just like breathing, it is very comfortable to wear and especially suitable for summer clothes. Hemp is also natural and it is best known for its cool, sweat-absorbent features that make it refreshing to wear in the summer. Wool is a winter regular, it is warm, elasticity is also very good, can wrap the body warm, wool coat is very popular. Silk is even more famous, it looks shiny and smooth to the touch, it is a good material for making dresses.

Man-made fibers, on the other hand, are made from natural things that have been processed and turned out, such as rayon and rayon. Artificial cotton is not real cotton, but the touch is almost the same as real cotton, and the price is still cheap, so it is suitable for making clothes for daily wear. Rayon can be another good choice for those who want the feel of silk, but the price is more affordable, and just as smooth and nice.

Synthetic fibers are made through chemical treatment, such as the common polyester, nylon and acrylic, spandex. Polyester is strong, doesn't wrinkle easily, and doesn't fade easily, so it's commonly used for sportswear and jackets. Nylon is very good at resisting wrinkles and abrasion, so it is particularly good for hiking clothes and backpacks. The elasticity of spandex is especially good, just like rubber bands, and can be restored to its original shape after stretching, so it is very suitable for making yoga clothes and sportswear. Acrylic is characterized by warmth and is not afraid of water, making it suitable for swimwear and outdoor clothing.

So it's important to understand the classification and characteristics of fabrics because different fabrics are suitable for different purposes. For example, choose a breathable fabric for summer and a warm fabric for winter. Both designers and consumers have to choose the right fabrics according to their needs so that they can make clothes that look good and are practical.
